• Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering minimum, Post-grad degree preferred
• Previous exposure to FAA/EASA/TCCA Certification Process for Part 23, Subpart B.
• Design/Flight Test background with business jets, turboprops and high performance aircraft an asset.
• Familiar with numerical and analytical Aircraft Performance and Stability & Control Design codes and capable of independent code development and validation (e.g. 6DOF simulator).
• Familiar with Flight Test common practice/techniques (test techniques, data analysis etc.) Fundamental understanding of Flight Control design and impact on aircraft S&C Pilot's license not required, but definite benefit.

Responsibilities:

• Conceive and plan investigations related to aircraft Stability and Control which are critical to the overall certification program.
• Work with interdepartmental design teams to anticipate and solve complex engineering problems.
• Liaise with Transport Canada representatives; manage application Special Conditions/ Certification requirements. Write certification plans, flight test plans and Part 23, subpart B compliance reports.
• Liaise with Diamond Austria regarding Stability and Control issues/prototyping/advanced aircraft design/Supplemental Type Certificates on existing aircraft.
• Primary support Engineering to implement lessons learned from Flight Test/Experimental testing. Secondary support Flight Test (planning, brief, de-brief, data analysis)
