Exhibitor and visitor numbers at the 30th AERO were at top level with numerous European and world premieres and innovations for more sustainability in aviation. The show will not only be remembered as an anniversary edition, but also as a trade fair with a particularly large number of innovations and premieres. With 31,500 visitors from 81 nations, the numbers were significantly higher than the previous year's edition and the proportion of pilots among visitors increased once again.
Our impressive stand featured the eDA40, DA50 RG, DA42-VI, DA62 and for the first time in many years our flight simulator in a special version for events, offering a realistic training experience. Adding to the excitement, our Pilot Shop boasted an array of Diamond merchandise for aviation enthusiasts. With our beautiful DA42 we celebrated two decades of excellence. The aircraft marked its 20-year anniversary, a testament to Diamond’s enduring legacy of innovation and quality of craftmanship.
At the heart of the showcase stood our all-electric eDA40 prototype, making its world debut. The e-aircraft with the transparent cowling captivated all visitors and made THE showstopper not only at our stand but also at the AERO Friedrichshafen.
The success continued as the eDA40 clinched the prestigious aerokurier innovation award in the motor and electric aircraft category. The aerokurier innovation award is a coveted audience award for outstanding new developments and brand images in general aviation. Once again, this year, at the end of the first day of the trade fair, the magazine honored those companies and products that are particularly popular with their readers. We are so honored to have received the 1st Place and want to thank aerokurier readers for their votes for our all-electric innovation!
Another highlight of the event was our press conference on the inaugural day, where our CEO Frank Zhang shared the stage with Mattias Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa Aviation Training, talking about the successful test flights in Dübendorf together with LAT pilots in the week before AERO.
“The European Flight Academy, the flight school of Lufthansa Group, is not only dedicated to highest training standards but also commits itself to new approaches to foster sustainability in aviation. We are delighted to be part of the eDA40 development process. It gives us a deep understanding of the new technology used and enables us to use it for the most advanced training,” sums up Matthias Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa Aviation Training.
You can imagine what an amazing show it was for all of us. Thank you to everyone who dropped by and made this AERO a special one! See you soon again!
