Diamond DA42 wins 2003 Aerospace Industry Award

Diamond Aircraft is the proud recipient of Flight International Magazine's prestigious Aerospace Industry Award 2003, in the General Aviation Category. The prize, announced in Paris at the International Airshow, was awarded for Diamond's innovative DA42. The DA42 sets new class standards in performance, safety, economy and ease of operation with its advanced construction and aerodynamics, twin fadec controlled turbocharged diesel Thielert 1.7 Centurion engines, and fully integrated Garmin G1000 glass cockpit. Runners up for the award were Sikorsky Aircraft's S-92 helicopter and Cirrus Design's Airframe Parachute System.

Since its inception, Diamond has always pioneered advances in technology, including all composite airframes, advanced aerodynamics, innovative powerplants, and use of advanced avionics equipment.
