Horizon purchases new aircraft from Diamond

The Al Ain based Horizon International Flight Academy has inked a deal with Austria’s Diamond Aircraft for the purchase of five brand new Diamond DA42 NGs. The new multi-engine aircraft will be an addition to the Academy’s existing fixed wing (airplane) fleet of three Diamond DA42’s and thirteen Cessna 172SP single engine aircraft.

“This purchase shows Horizon’s intent to be at the forefront of the pilot training industry with the most technologically advanced training aircraft and flight simulators available”, said Horizon Academy’s General Manager, Mansour Al Faheem.  He added:  “These aircraft are equipped with modern technology, similar to those found in modern airliners. The transition from DA42 to A320, for example, becomes easier as the instrumentation in the cockpit is similar.”

“We are proud to have Horizon, the biggest Flight School in Middle East, as a customer. This underlines again the leading position of Diamond Aircraft’s newly developed DA42 NG equipped with the Austro Engine AE300 running on Jet A1 as training and surveillance airplane”, said Christian Dries, chairman and owner of Diamond Aircraft Industries.

Horizon’s fixed wing training program targets airlines for their ab-initio pilot training. With its strategic location at the Al Ain International Airport, the Academy offers the best in pilot training facilities and a team of highly qualified instructors with years of training experience.
