The DA40 NG is the ultimate development of this popular single, incorporating the experience gained in several million hours of operation and years of service under the harshest of conditions. Its defining feature, the turbocharged AE300 jetfuel piston engine, elevates the DA40 to a new level. While the industry searches for solutions to replace leaded AVGAS 100LL, Diamond’s DA40 NG sidesteps the issue by use of the most widely used aviation fuel, Jetfuel. Not only is Jetfuel leadfree, it is also lower cost, available globally, and less flammable than gasoline. Best of all, the DA40 NG, with its Austro AE300 turbocharged engine and aerodynamically efficient design, uses far less fuel than any comparable airplane.

The DA40 NG offers exceptional visibility thanks to its panoramic wrap around canopy and generous rear windows. Comfortable access for all on board is assured through the forward swinging canopy and large rear door that provides access to the folding rear seats and generous fuselage baggage area.

The sleek all composite airframe incorporates advanced aerodynamics with the latest in passive safety technology for high performance, great efficiency and superior occupant protection.

The rugged airframe is designed to resist the bumps and scrapes of a busy flightline and stands up well in any environment to keep looking great for many years to come. Reinforced landing gear attachments, tough springsteel main gear legs and a low maintenance nosegear strut forgive rough landings with ease.

High crosswind capability, centre stick with excellent control harmony and precise handling make the DA40 a joy to fly and a great training platform.

The DA40 NG comes standard with a choice of stylish and hard wearing interior materials.

For luxurious comfort and style, available features include premium leather interiors in several designs and colours, adjustable pilot seatbacks and lumbar support, electrically adjustable rudder pedals, electric air conditioning, and much more.


The turbocharged 170 hp Austro AE300 jet fuel piston engine powers the DA40 NG, with technology not available in any other aircraft in class.  It starts easily under all conditions, hot and cold alike, uses less than 8.5 gph at maximum continuous power and only 5.5 gph in a typical flight training environment, while delivering excellent cruise performance and sprightly climbs, thanks to turbocharging that maintains full power to 14,000’.  It is turbine smooth, quiet and the most fuel efficient way to fly.  The single power lever and redundant digital engine control offer ultimate reliability and ease of operation. It is as simple as it gets and lets you focus on flying.

The 3 blade MT hydraulic constant speed propeller features advanced blade geometry for efficient performance, low vibration and noise. It is automatically controlled by the engine’s digital engine control through a conventional hydraulic governor.

The DA40 NG’s fully integrated G1000NXi flight deck, incorporating the latest features including the optional ultra precise GFC700 Automatic Flight Control System, offers superior situational awareness, convenience and safety.

The conventional full size standby instruments are centrally located for optimum viewing from both student and instructor positions and to allow partial panel training.
