This was AERO Friedrichshafen 2019

We had a blast at AERO Friedrichshafen: Meeting old and new friends, presenting gorgeous new exterior and interior designs, publishing exciting news on our DA50 and discussing our future plans.

Spending time with our #DiamondAircraftFamily always makes us shine even more. Thank you so much for being with us!

For everyone who couldn’t make to the AERO show, herewith all news and updates just for you.

This year we surprised everyone with a complete new stand design reflecting our One World. One Diamond. One Family. Claim. As every AERO, Diamond invited to its press conference on the first day of the show, for the first time under the new management: continuing our traditions and talking with and to the market.

Curious to learn about the latest updates on our beautiful Diamonds? Keep on reading:

Update on our DA40 variants

Our DA40 is celebrating 20 years since the start of the program in 1999. With more than 2,200 units (all versions) in worldwide service today, a big number of those in high utilization commercial operations, the DA40 fleet is providing its durability and safety, day in and day out, every day.

A month ago we celebrated another DA40 NG milestone: The 400th AUSTRO jet-fuel engine powered DA40 NG built in Austria was handed over to a proud new customer.

The much anticipated deliveries of the AvGas powered DA40 XLT built in Canada are starting this year.

We can’t wait to see our DA40 fleet growing significantly this year. We can’t stop looking at her.

Update on our DA42-VI

We proudly introduced our beloved DA42-VI in a completely new exterior and interior design at this year AERO Friedrichshafen: sophisticated sunset-orange-silver paint meets luxurious black-cognac genuine leather seats.

And for all the AvGeeks out there: We have certified the Garmin Flight Stream 510 on all newly built DA42-VI as well as on new DA40 NGs. We are currently working on a Service Bulletin to also offer it to existing customers and to have it certified soon for the DA62.

Update on our DA62

Our beautiful DA62 was shown off in a new exterior and interior design at AERO Friedrichshafen 2019, too: sparkling in a luscious blue with extravagant design elements on the wings and nose area. Accompanied by genuine black leather seats with matching blue stitching.

Besides the 5 and 7 seat variant, the DA62 now can also be ordered with 4 or 6 seats. The 4-seat and 6-seat configuration will be available for delivery by Q4/2019.

For these versions you can enjoy a luxurious, limousine like second row: two wide and comfortable seats with multifunctional middle armrest in-between that provide storage options for each passenger’s personal items and bottle holders.

Update on the DA50 program

Introduced at AERO Friedrichshafen 2017, our DA50 has gained lots of interest on the market.

In December 2017 our new owner took over Diamond Aircraft with the promise for a long-term commitment: Diamond wants to be the leading company in General Aviation. The transition year 2018 was spent with re-evaluation of all ongoing projects including the DA50 program. Diamond Aircraft has come to the conclusion to make some changes on the single engine aircraft, most important ones including a new engine concept and retractable gear. The DA50 on AERO’s display flew in with the engine.
